Germany: Inflation is expected to Fall in April - 26.4.2012


According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany consumer prices in the major European economy may rise in April by 2% from April 2011 and by 0.1% from March 2012. Inflation is therefore expected to moderate as annualized and monthly figures for March 2012 were 2.1% and 0.3% respectively. The harmonised consumer price index for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to increase by 2.2% in April 2012 from April 2011, compared with the 2.3% increase in the previous month. The final results for April 2012 will be released on 11 May 2012.
