Top daily news

Global stocks are trading in different directions currently after US stocks ended mixed again on Monday. Apple shares added 0.31% amid reports the Facebook parent Meta has discussed integrating its generative AI model into Apple’s recently announced AI system for iPhones, Nvidia shares plunged 6.68% on Monday underperforming market.

Forex news

The Dollar strengthening has resumed currently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, ended 0.3% lower on Monday.

Both EUR/USD and GBP/USD reversed their retreating on Monday while Ifo reported Germany's business sentiment softened in June. Both Pound and euro are lower against the dollar currently. USD/JPY ended little changed yesterday while AUD/USD reversed its retreating with both the yen and Australian dollar higher against the Greenback currently.

Stock Market news

Futures on three main US stock indexes are up currently with the yield on benchmark 10-year Treasury down at 4.234% ahead of the Conference Board Consumer Confidence report at 16:00 CET today. US markets ended mixed on Monday as the three main stock benchmarks recorded daily returns in a range from -1.1% to 0.7% while San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly said she did not believe the US central bank should cut rates before policymakers were confident inflation was headed toward 2%.

European stock indexes futures are lower currently after indexes closed lower on Monday. Asian indexes futures are mixed today with Australia’s All Ordinaries ASX 200 Index leading gains.

Commodity Market news

Brent is retracing lower currently. Oil prices ended nearly 1% higher yesterday amid tensions in the Middle East and drone attacks on Russian refineries. EU countries agreed on a new package of sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine, including a ban on reloading Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the EU for further shipment to third countries. US West Texas Intermediate WTI ended 1.1% higher but is down currently. Brent rose 0.9% to $86.01 a barrel on Monday.

Gold prices are retracing lower currently . Spot gold added 0.5% to $2317.77 an ounce on Monday.
